Solitary Shadow

Stygian darkness braved alone,
Sombre silence of graves and tombs,
Surrounded by silhouettes of my own,
Morose solitude which felt like home;

Thread the pathways of desolation,
Uncharted voyage where spirits roam,
Entombed in my shell of lone seclusion,
Undiscovered skeletons with my bones;

Penumbral shadows cast by moonlight,
Unmasked facades of my false disguise,
Hidden nightmares my soul would hide,
Reject parts of me unrecognized;

Acquaint with my demons real and raw,
Tethered in chains waiting to unleash,
Seethed within to suppress my flaws,
Made known to me from depths beneath;

Soul-scarred wounds that plead to heal,
Echoed from the past which seeks release,
Carried burden from a silent ordeal,
My heart seeks solace, solitude and peace;
